Wrought Iron Table
Wrought iron is a type of metal created by adding other metals together to create the final product. Wrought iron remains strong from adding different composite materials together but is malleable enough to be molded into artistic shapes and forms. Wrought iron literally is translated into “worked iron”, being worked by smelters which are commonly referred to as bloomeries today.

Wrought iron has been made ever since the Middle Ages for construction as it is too soft for cutting edges on swords and other sharp weapons. Wrought Iron is created with the process of heating an iron and adding different metals to it until its final form is achieved. In the melting and cooling process some metals are pushed out causing the wrought iron to have a grainy look to it, such as a board of wood.

The composition of the wrought iron is what makes it so useful in decorative work. Its properties make it into its bendable form, since it came from a spongier form. During the refining process, carbon is burned out leaving a bloom, giving the bloomeries their name. Wrought iron can be used to make many things such as a wrought iron table, chair or bench..
